Randy Elia

Randy Elia has been studying Chinese martial arts for more than 40 years. He is the senior disciple of Grandmaster Peter Kwok. Randy also studied with Y.C. Chiang, Y.C. Wong, Adam Hsu, Lu De Xiu, Gao Xian, and Yang Fu Kui.  Specializing in Northern Shaolin Chuan, Chin Na, Taijiquan, Baguazhang, and Xingyiquan, he also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a licensed massage therapist. Randy was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2004, has been on national television, and is the author of a book entitled "Ancient Healing Teachings of the East." He served as President of the GPYTCA from 2005 – 2011.  Randy owns and operates Peter Kwok's Kung Fu Academy in Westwood, NJ where he teaches the original, authentic styles of gongfu.


Dr. Erlene Chiang, Director of Wen Wu School of Martial Arts, has been a Board Certified doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 30 years.  Born in the family of Grandmasters YC Chiang and Hui Liu, Erlene started practicing Gongfu, Taiji and Qigong at age 5. She has won numerous awards locally and internationally in Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her specialty is utilizing her TCM knowledge of Taiji and Qigong by analyzing the medical use of the movements.  Erlene teaches how to correctly use the movements to bring forth the therapeutic functions as Taiji and Qigong were originally created for health and longevity.

SOPHIE NICHANIAN

Sophie Nichanian is an acupuncturist and doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She lives in Alfortville, a suburb of Paris France.  Sophie began studying Guang Ping Yang Taijiquan in 1990 with Eric Lelaquais, a student of Fu Tung Cheng.  She trained with Fu Tung Cheng at his seminars in France and went on to study for 2-1/2 years at Wen Wu School in CA where she trained in Taijiquan with Grandmaster YC Chiang and in Dayan Qigong with Grandmaster Hui Liu.  Sophie has been teaching Guang Ping taijquan since 2000 and is a GPYTCA Certified teacher. 



Pakinee “Paki” Sukwattana began studying Guang Ping taijiquan with Mary Pabst (former student of Diane Rabinowitz) in 1993.  Paki also learned Fan Boxing and Wuji Sword from Mary Pabst and studied Liang Gong and Yang Broad Sword with Master Wen Mei Yu, and Sun style Taiji and Yang Taiji sword with Ralph Dehner.  Paki served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer from 2003 – 2011 and is a GPYTCA Certified Teacher. She is currently teaching Guang Ping Yang and Sun style taiji at the Worthington Community Center in Ohio.

LUCY BARTIMOLE

Lucy Bartimole is the developer of Taiji For Balance and owner of Shift with Lucy, an online community of people who practice mindful movement to maintain harmony in their lives. She is a Certified Teacher of Guang Ping Yang Taijiquan, is a licensed Meridian Massage Practitioner, and a Qigong Laoshi.  Lucy began studying Guang Ping Yang Taiji in 1998 with Pakinee Sukwatanna and Jeff Burton.  She has studied several styles of qigong including Marriage of Heaven And Earth, Baduanjin, Shiba Luohan Gong, and Dayan Qigong.  She serves on the Research and Education Committee of the National Qigong Association, and is a member of the International Taiji Forum. She served on the Board of Directors of the GPYTCA for 11 years and was President from 2013-2015.



Bradley Schwartzseid began his gongfu journey at Peter Kwok’s Kung Fu Academy in 2003 with Northern Shaolin.  He went on to study Hebei style Xingyi, and eventually Guang Ping Yang Taijiquan. Under the direct tutelage of Randy Elia, Bradley earned the rank of 5th Degree Black belt and the title of Sifu. He competed in Taiji and Xingyi at the US Kuo Shu Federation competition in Maryland for many years, earning multiple medals. In 2024, Bradley judged at the International Chinese Martial Arts Championship in Orlando Florida. He currently teaches Guang Ping Taiji classes, including one to help people with Parkinson’s disease.


BRADLEY SCHWARTZSEID

SYLVIA MA

Sylvia Ma started her internal martial arts training under the tutelage of Sifu Randy Sugawara and Grandmaster Henry Look over 20 years ago. She is certified by Tri Internal Martial Arts (TIMA) School for Guang Ping Yang Taijiquan, Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Saber, Spear, Straight Sword and Long Xingyi Staff. She is also TIMA certified as Instructor, Master Instructor, and Sifu.  Sylvia has competed in tournaments including Pacific Five Star tournament in Folsom CA (2005), University of California Berkeley Chinese Martial Arts tournament (2005 - 2010), and Desert Dragon International Martial Arts Tournament in Albuquerque NM (2007). She has taught internal martial arts in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 15 years. 


Nathaniel “Tiz” “Tisdale is a 6th generation disciple of Yang Michuan Taijiquan.  His teacher was Dr. Shie-Ming Hwang and his grand-teacher was Wang Yen-nien.  Tiz’s Taijiquan has been influenced by Wutan style Baguazhang as well as Bajiquan, from grand-teacher Liu Yun-qiao of the Wutan Bajiquan system in Taiwan. Tiz has been involved in organizing and running Push Hand tournaments on a local, state, and international level over the last 20 years.  He was the Director of Taiji Push Hands for the Arnold Schwarzenegger International Martial Art Tournament.
